Golf at Te Paepae o Aotea provides students with opportunities to develop their skills, challenge themselves, and enjoy a sport that encourages patience, resilience, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility. Whether students are experienced golfers or picking up a club for the first time, our golf programme aims to create an environment where everyone can participate, improve, and enjoy the game.

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to take part in a range of competitions and events. One of the highlights is the Match Play Trophy, which is contested across the school year at different golf courses throughout South Taranaki. Students also compete in the Te Paepae o Aotea School Golf Championships, with both gross and nett titles up for grabs, as well as representing the school at the TSSSA Golf Championships.

Alongside competitive golf, students are able to develop their skills through Rotational Golf and SNAG Golf, providing accessible and enjoyable ways for players of different experience levels to become involved. We are also fortunate to receive coaching and development sessions from Futures Taranaki, giving our golfers the opportunity to work on different aspects of their game and learn from experienced coaches.

Our golfers also enjoy several school exchanges throughout the year, providing further opportunities to represent Te Paepae o Aotea, compete against students from other schools, and build positive relationships through sport.

Golf at Te Paepae o Aotea is about more than simply shooting the lowest score. It is about developing confidence, perseverance, respect for others, and a lifelong enjoyment of the game. Whether competing for a championship, playing in an exchange, or learning the basics for the first time, our students proudly represent
Te Paepae o Aotea and demonstrate our school values of Aotea, Paepae and Taupaenui.
