The 2025 cricket team faced a tough season, with results not quite going our way. With many new and inexperienced players stepping into the side, every game was a learning opportunity and a chance to build skills for the future. While wins were hard to come by, the effort and determination shown throughout the season was a real positive, and the team
continued to improve week by week.
Despite the challenges, there were some standout moments worth celebrating. Jack Wasley’s brilliant innings of 151 and Theo Soothill’s composed century were highlights of the season, showing the talent and potential within the squad. More importantly, the group kept a positive spirit, supported one another, and enjoyed the chance to represent Te Paepae on the field.
Although this year’s results weren’t what we hoped for, the experience gained by our younger players has laid a strong foundation for the future. With the lessons learned this season and the culture built, the cricket team is well placed to come back stronger next year.
